Well the story goes like this; Its date night and my girlfriend asked me, “someday soon, can we get sushi?” I replied with, “I don’t feel like going downtown and I’m not feeling what’s around us.” So she gets on the ol’ Google machine and starts searching away. Then a moment later, she discovered a familiar name that she once enjoyed before. The name was Ninja Sushi on Northlake Blvd., just east of Prosperity Farms Road. Now, she thinks it’s a chain that she once had in Boca. NOPE. But we only found that out when we arrived. So we just said, what can we lose, let’s try it out. Turns out, my girlfriend is always right! The place is in a mini mall parallel to Northlake, so kind of small but cute. We walked in sat down right away, ordered a unsweetened tea and soda. We checked out the menu and turns out they have reasonably priced lunch & dinner specials, sushi rolls, and combination platters. We then ordered our meals and made small talk with the waitress.
Her name is Suki and she tells us in the most gentle and kind voice that the Ninja Sushi family is from New York and during season they turn hundreds of orders from the Snow Birds. My girl and I are from that area so we could relate. Anyways, we got our food and then the conversations turned silent. Both my girlfriend and I didn’t have time to talk due to the overwhelming bliss that we were put into. We really, really enjoyed the crispy, fresh, clean usage of the Chefs Asian culture craftsmanship. It was not over saturated, heavy, or thick, like I’m going to feel sick in the morning type of Japanese food that some place strive on. Blah.. nah, we ordered Miso Soup, Edamame, Spicy Tuna, Eel Cucumber, and Yellowtail Sushi Rolls. Amazing! One way to tell if the restaurant has fresh seafood is to order yellowtail snapper. It’s a fish the restaurant doesn’t flip too often, so if it tastes clean, fresh and isn’t too fishy, you know the rest of their seafood will be the same. We followed up on the order with Sautéed Asparagus over Beef Medallions. Off the Chain! It was so light yet packed with flavor. This place is legit and I am very happy I could share with you guys. Best Date Night Ever!
